Our client was a team who had been given the task of influencing the mid-level managers to make the changes that would deliver ExCo's vision.
What was their dream?
Their dream was quite simply to get those managers to make time for meetings, engage in the process of change and then take the actions needed to make it a reality.
What was their nightmare?
Time and the pressure of delivering business as usual.
Basically most of the people they need to speak to had a ton of things to do and were secretly hoping that if they laid low then all of this would disappear.
What action did we help them take?
We started with a 90 minute introduction to The DNA of Engagement that got the Change Agents thinking about how what they said and how they said it could make the difference to their powers of influence.
We followed this with a series of our Half Day of the DNA sessions.
The practice and reflection gave the team space to craft and refine the narrative they needed to use at every point of contact.
What was the result?
The project is ongoing.
But the feedback is that engagement levels are up and the team has a shared language that allows them to coach each other before every key meeting.
I wish I'd know about the DNA a year ago. It would have saved me so much time. It's worked brilliantly with management. But it really came into its own when I was planning my wedding with my fiancé.
